No decorrer do mês de novembro de 2016, iremos reiniciar os ciclos de palestras promovidas pelo Conselho Científico do IPMA, com três palestras dedicadas à investigação sobre a Observação do Oceano, nas instalações do IPMA de Algés (Auditório).

Rui Campos (InescTec) - Wireless Energy and Communications in remote ocean areas : The ENDURE and BLUECOM+ projects
Rui Campos has a PhD degree in Electrical and Computers Engineering in 2011 from University of Porto. He is the coordinator of the “Wireless Networks” research area at INESC TEC and he has been an invited Assistant Professor at University of Porto. He is the author of 40+ scientific publications in international conferences and journals with peer review. He has coordinated several research projects and participated in several EU research projects, and he is currently the coordinator of the BLUECOM+ project. His research interests include maritime networks, underwater radio networks, and flying networks.

Artur Rocha (InescTec) - Fisheries in INSPIRE as an extension of the Observations&Measurements standard - Discussing usage and first results
Artur Rocha graduated in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1996 at FEUP (University of Porto) and is presently finishing a PhD in Informatics and Engineering in the same university. His main research topics are the geospatial semantic Web, focused on the interoperability (system of systems) perspective and semantic sensor Web (IoT). He has participated in numerous EU projects, in most as technical coordinator. He also participates in several e-infrastructure and e-science projects.

João Borges de Sousa -Ocean observation with networked vehicle systems
João Borges de Sousa is a Professor at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department from Porto University in Portugal and the head of the Underwater Systems and Technologies Laboratory, where he has been leading the design, implementation and deployment of advanced unmanned vehicle systems. He has been lecturing and delivering seminars on networked robotics in major universities in the US and EU. He is a member of the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International maritime advisory committee and of several NATO committees. He authored more than 300 publications, including 30 journal papers.
