More detail in forest fire risk index

IPMA website now includes a representation of the forest fire risk index (RCM) for mainland Portugal with more detailed information, following collaboration between IPMA and the Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests (ICNF).

Thus, in addition to representing the risk of forest fire at county level, the website also includes for each county, complementary daily meteorological forecast, as well as restrictions on the use of fire according to the time of year and the forecast of forest fire risk.

It should be further stressed that the ongoing collaboration between IPMA and ICNF is currently also aiming to improve the structural and meteorological risk components that originate the RCM index.
