The President of the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere, I.P. (IPMA) José Guerreiro, will participate in the seminar “The Ocean Economy & Climate Change Nexus”, co-organised by the OECD Net Zero+ Horizontal Project and the Permanent Delegation of Portugal. Guerreiro will address the topic of “Nature-based solutions in the context of climate change”.
The seminar will take place on 26 February, 14:30 to 16:30 (13.30 to 15.30 GMT), in Paris, and will explore the crucial linkages between the ocean economy and climate change, with a special focus on Portugal’s experience, best practices, and challenges. Discussions will address important questions such as the contribution of the ocean economy to sustainable socio-economic development in Portugal, what are the most promising technologies for achieving net-zero emissions and how can nature-based solutions support the ocean economy.
