39th session of RA IV Hurricane Committee

The 39th session of Hurricanes Committee of Region IV (North America, Central and Caribbean) of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) will be held from 23-26 March 2017 in San José, Costa Rica.
Portugal was invited by WMO to participate in the sessions of this committee, being represented by the Regional Delegate of IPMA Azores, a region that is frequently affected by this type of meteorological phenomena.
During this event, topics related to the coordination of operational aspects and improvement of hurricane forecasts will be addressed, especially in region VI (Europe) adjacent to region IV.
