E-SURFMAR ET-14 & 2nd EUCAWS Workshop, Lisbon, 15-19 May 2017

14th E-SURFMAR Expert Team Meeting and 2nd Internacional EUCAWS Workshop took place at IPMA headquarters in Lisbon, during 15 to 19 may 2017. Portugal (IPMA) as a participating member in E-SURFMAR collaborated with EUMETNET in organizing this meeting, bringing together 11 research institutions namely: Spain (AEMET), France (Météo France), United Kingdom (Met Office), Ireland (Met Éireann), Germany (DWD), Croatia (DHMZ) Italy (OGS), Netherlands (KNMI), Norway (Met Norway), IOC (JCOMMOPS) and Portugal (IPMA, IH).

2nd EUCAWS workshop held on may 15, was dedicated to the operational implementation of EUropean Common Automatic Weather Station (EUCAWS), procured under common specifications. The work focused on different functionalities of this new marine weather observation station: EUCAWS architectures, acquisition, transmission, configuration, local output, automatic processing, among others, enabling the operationality of EUCAWS, recently attributed to IPMA (Portugal), after the submission of portuguese application to EUCAWS-VOS E-SURFMAR 2016 project.
