The 2024 edition of AMARE-MED, the Advanced school on Multispecies modelling Approaches for ecosystem based marine REsource management in the MEDiterranean Sea, will be held in Lisbon (Portugal) in the premises of the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) from 28 July to 3 August 2024.
The school will have two outstanding lecturers Prof. André Punt (School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences, University of Washington, Seattle, USA) and Dr. Lewis Barnett (NOAA Alaska Fisheries Science Center, USA). The focus will be on modelling trawl survey data using traditional and geostatistical methods and their use in multispecies models for fisheries management.
There is no application fee.
Candidates have to apply until the 25 th of May 2024 - through the online form
30 applicants will be selected on the basis of experience, skills and demonstrated interest in quantitative fisheries management.
AMARE-MED 2024 is jointly organized by the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA, Portugal), National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics (OGS, Italy), National Research Council (CNR, Italy), IMR (Norway Institute of Marine Research).
