The COASTAL Project is planning the Workshop: "Microfluidic sensors for rapid detection of biotoxins in bivalves", that will take place at IPMA in Algés and can also be attended online (via Zoom) starting at 2 pm (Lisbon Time) on April 22nd 2024.
The Workshop aims to present an overview, the main results and a demonstration of the biosensors developed by the COASTAL Project as a portable sensing solution for detecting biotoxins in bivalves. Developed technology will help to overcome the current limitations of the conventional analytical techniques.
The Workshop is free but registration is required. The deadline for registration is April 19th 2024. Please, fill the following registration form available on link 3 below.

Last update - Project Coastal Meeting - September 14th 2023
The 2nd meeting of the COASTAL Project - Microfluidic Sensors for the Rapid Detection of Marine Toxins in Sustainable Aquaculture took place in Oslo, September 14th and 15th, 2023.
Specialists in the field of electrochemistry, analytical chemistry and the manufacture of micro and nanobiosensors from the entities SINTEF, Faculty of Veterinary (FV) of the University of Norway, Center for Environmental and Marine Studies (CESAM) of the University of Aveiro and the IPMA.
Advances were made in the development of the design, production, assembly and testing of the first microfluidic cell prototypes for detecting PST (Paralytic shellfish toxins), namely with sensors and biosensors capable of detecting 5 PST analogues in bivalve samples.
