The month of June in Portugal mainland was classified as very rainy regarding precipitation and as normal regarding air temperature.
The average value of the amount of precipitation in June, 48.5 mm, corresponds to about 150% of the monthly normal value. Since 2000, this was the 2nd rainier June, having been surpassed by 2007, with 56.8 mm.
Regarding air temperature, the average value of maximum air temperature, 25.17°C, was lower than normal, -0.19°C, the 2nd lowest value since 2000, and the mean minimum temperature value, 13.88°C, was higher than normal at 0.39°C.
Thus, although the month was classified as normal, it was the 4th month of June, with an average temperature value (19.52°C) lower since 2000 (after 2007, 2013 and 2014). However, between June 15 and 25 a heat wave occurred in the North and in some places in the Central region, lasting between 6 and 9 days.
