As part of the scientific visits to the Arouca radar, visitors were offered, in 2016, real time updated radar images, in the 10th floor of the tower, as it was, in time, informed by IPMA.
From now on, seismograms images from nearby seismic stations will also be available in real time, including those located at Torre de Moncorvo (MVO), Gavieira, Serra da Peneda (PVAV) and Viseu (PVIS).
A Geotech S-13 seismic sensor, common in seismic stations by the end of the 20th century, was also made available for exhibition. This sensor is of extreme sensitivity in the detection of ground movement. The sensor joins other equipment (meteorological) already in place. For information on site visits, interested parties should contact Arouca Geopark through Casa das Pedras Parideiras (pedrasparideiras@aroucageopark.pt or 256484093).
