On the 3rd January 2017, at 21:52:31 UTC an earthquake occurred with a magnitude of 7.2 (Mw), South of Fiji Islands in the Pacific, at about 220 km of the coast.
According to US Geological Survey (USGS), this earthquake was felt with maximum intensity of II-III in the modified Mercalli scale. A small tsunami was generated and a 0.01m wave was registered in the SUVA VITI LEVU (Fiji) maregraph.
