Weather Radar in the Northern Region

The third and most modern weather radar IPMA , IP ,was installed in Pico Gralheiro, Serrada Freita in Arouca, about 1100meters.

This equipment is on an experimental basis ,an investment of about three million reimbursed at 85% by Community funds and should become operational during this quarter.

The North radar will be inaugurated on18th of this month, by the President of the Portuguese Republic, Aníbal Cavaco Silva.
