World Meteorological Day 2013

The 23 March is World Meteorological Day and will be celebrated this year at the Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera, I. P. (IPMA) on June 26.

The theme for 2013 "The Weather Watch in safeguarding lives and property," also celebrates the 50th anniversary of the "World Weather Watch" World Meteorological Organization.

This year's theme aims to draw attention to the vital role in the Meteorological Services weather surveillance.
